The Making of a Rattan Bottle Holder (Aug): Step 4 - Closing Weave
Beginners’ lesson for the month of August is still on making round base bottle holder but with a slight tweak. The recent rattan stocks feel more brittle and harder than the usual reed rattan of the same size. It can be tough for first-time weaving. Thus, this lesson is specially design for those who uses the same batch of rattan. We are still weaving with single weaver but the base would be weaved with 2 spokes by 2 spokes randing method. (As compared to the standard one spoke by one spoke randing method)
Technical Information:
Material: 2.0 / 2.5 mm dia. Reed Rattan
Start method: Cross method with 4 4 spokes @ 35cm length
Weaving method: single weaver, 2 by 2 randing (Base)
single weaver, 1 by 1 randing (body)
