Dissecting The World’s Smallest Hard Drive Toshiba MK4001MTD
In this video I dissect the world’s smallest hard drive the MK4001MTD manufactured by Toshiba. At .85 inches it’s platter is smaller than the more commonly known CF style Microdrive with a 1 inch platter inside. These where only made for internal storage with 2 connection types. One being a MMC like connector and the other as a 14 pin ZIF. I have also included a bit of useful information as well for others who may have one and are trying to get it to run however I can’t get mine to work at this point. I am not an expert in this topic so maybe some one else can pitch in a few words of advice as well.
YouTuber Janus Cycle made a video on various hard drive form factors including the .85 inch MK4001MTD found in the Nokia N91 check it out.
Here is the link announcement link on when the .85 inch HDD was made.
