Ruins of Palmyra and Baalbek (1938)

Destroyed by ISIS, an archway in the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra can be seen in its earlier glory in this beautiful colour travel film, shot by Powell & Pressburger’s cinematographer Jack Cardiff.
