Father Constantine’s sermon on the widow and unjust judge and the Meeting of Our Lord on

Hieromonk Constantine (Simon) gave this sermon on Saturday in the Church of St John the Theologian under the Elm. 0:19 He discussed the widow and the unjust judge, asked himself a question who the elect are and concluded that they are not the material poor but they are poor in spirit. The poor can be kind and evil, but the elect can’t be evil. 3:38 He mentioned that we still celebrate the Meeting of Our Lord in the Temple. He said that it’s also a meeting of winter with spring. The irony of the feast is that the infant takes the old man in his arms but not the opposite. Among the Greeks it’s considered the feast of Our Lord, but among the Russians it’s the feast of Our Lady, because it commemorates Her purification. She didn’t need it but did it in accord with the law. 10:11 Our Lord also says that the thoughts of many shall be revealed. Эта проповедь была в субботу в храме Иоанна Богослова под Вязом. \\
