As I explained in some detail in my initial “best of” compilation upload, the soundtracks of the Frédéric Rossif animal documentary series are a very complex area, and if you wish to learn more about the background to them then you should click on this link For now though I am going to confine my comments to the individual albums, continuing with La Fête Sauvage. This was a 90-minute movie, and both the film and its accompanying soundtrack album were released in 1976. However in September 2014, the film was made available in a restored version on DVD and Blu-Ray which included a music and effects version without any narration, thereby making it possible to properly appreciate some Vangelis compositions for the first time. The original album ran for 38 minutes (including one 4-minute outtake) but this “complete” score incorporates a further 50 minutes of additional material,
