Set in Stone: Maya Rulers in the Great Hall | Installation Time-Lapse

Watch a time-lapse of the multiday installation of two Maya stelae. This installation, located in the Great Hall of The Met, foregrounds the long-term collaboration between The Met and the Republic of Guatemala, for the temporary loan and display of masterpieces of Maya relief sculpture in New York. Visitors will encounter representations of two powerful Indigenous American rulers, Ix Wak Jalam Chan (Lady Six Sky) and K’inich Yo’nal Ahk II, as they enter the museum. The Michael C. Rockefeller Wing is scheduled to reopen in 2025. Subscribe for new content from The Met: #TheMet #Art #TheMetropolitanMuseumofArt #Museum © 2021 The Metropolitan Museum of Art
