King Gambler 賭王大騙局 (1976) **Official Trailer** by Shaw Brothers

Title: King Gambler 賭王大騙局 Year: 1976 Director: Cheng Kang 程剛 Casts: Tsung Hua 宗華, Chen Kuan-tai 陳觀泰, Chen Ping 陳萍 Think The Sting with Hong Kong characteristics and you’ve got an idea of King Gambler, a forerunner of the God Of Gamblers and the gambling craze that swept Hong Kong cinema. It’s casino cardsharps versus super cardsharps, but with a lot more action than the typical Hollywood gambling film. Starring kung-fu aces Tsung Hua and Chen Kuan-tai, the movie features the two in a battle of wits -- and fists --as they fight it out at the gaming table and sting each another in extremely imaginative ways. As Chen’s wife, the beautiful Chen Ping also gets in on the action, demonstrating that sex can be a formidable weapon as well. Cheng Kang, one of Shaw Brothers top directors, spent twice as long shooting this movie as his other features, but the gamble paid off and King Gambler became a top ten hit of 1976.
