La Vie en Rose // Lucy Dacus // Paris Film

This is an ode to Paris with a cover of La vie en rose by Lucy Dacus. Images have been swirling in my head since hearing her cover and they’re all laid out here. It was in some ways an avenue to channel some of the restless anxiety that’s been building up in the midst of these strange days during lockdown (April 2020). La vie en rose was originally released after WWII after France was liberated from Germany’s occupation. And it gave people hope for the future to come. Hopefully this timeless song with a modern twist can act as a respite from covid-19. And in time, we will all embrace, kiss, and dance together again. Until then, stay safe.
