Indianapolis Police Officers Shoot Carjacking Suspect After Pointing a Gun at Them

* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Indianapolis, Indiana — On Wednesday, March 29, 2023 just after 4:00 p.m., IMPD Northwest District officers were dispatched to the 5600 block of Georgetown Road on a report of a carjacking. Officers were advised that a vehicle crash had occurred at 5600 Georgetown Road and an occupant from the crashed vehicle carjacked a black Chevy Impala at the intersection. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Michael Barnes drove away in the Impala. Within minutes, officers located the Impala near W. 62nd Street and Cooper Road. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle with their lights and sirens on; however, Barnes did not stop. A vehicle pursuit ensued and ended at the on-ramp to Interstate-65 South from Kessler Blvd N.
