Moon phases from Earth🌙

Why do we see different Moon phases and only one side of it? 🌙 It’s all about its position relative to the Earth and the Sun! 🌞🌎 The Moon reflects sunlight, and as it orbits the Earth, the angle changes, showing us more or less of the Moon’s illuminated side. 🔄  🌚 But why do we see only one side of our celestial neighbor? 🤔 It’s due to the effect called “tidal locking“ – the Moon rotates exactly once per orbit, revealing only one face to us. 😯 Watch the video for the visualization. By the way, the far side of the Moon isn’t actually “dark“; it gets just as much sunlight as the side we see! ☀️
