Dear Friends, today’s video is an arrangement for clarinet quartet of a piece by my beloved Frédéric Chopin again, this time the famous Waltz opus 64 N1! Composed in 1847 and dedicated to Countess Delfina Potocka, this lovely piece is known as the « Minute Waltz » in English (nickname given by the publisher in the meaning of miniature Waltz, not because of a supposed duration), Chopin got the inspiration as he was watching a small dog chase its tail, which prompted the composer to name the piece Valse du petit chien (Waltz of the Puppy).
