Mountain Chief (Piegan) speech at the Sign Language Conference in 1930. (Subtitles)

The Piegan Mountain Chieftain (Blackfeet) delivered this speech in Indian sign language (PISL, Hand Talk, also known as Plains Sign Talk, Plains Sign Language and First Nation Sign Language) in September 1930 at the Native American Sign Language Conference hosted by General Scott in Montana at Fort Browning. The conference was filmed, which has survived to this day, and shows excellent examples of Prairie Indian sign language. Subtitled translation.
