AMATEURS AT WEMBLEY - The featherweight final of the ABA Championships was won by Peter Brander (Slough) when he defeated Percy Lewis of the RAF. The light-heavyweight final was won by Masservy of the Royal Navy. ® TURPIN V FINCH - Dick Turpin (Leamington) met Albert Finch (Croydon) at Nottingham for the Middleweight Championship of Great Britain and the Lonsdale Belt.
