Global Forum against Racism and Discrimination – Panel Discussion 1

The recent upsurge in racial discrimination, especially in the COVID-19 context, requires mobilizing a powerful global effort to step up UNESCO’s actions to tackle the alarming increase in racism and discrimination in all regions of the world. As a response, UNESCO organized a Global Forum against Racism and Discrimination on 22 March 2021 in the context of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The Panel Discussion 1 entitled “How to establish anti-racist policies: policymakers at the forefront of the global fight against racism” highlighted the crucial need to establish national anti-racism action plans, and enhance existing ones, ensuring that opportunities for education, and other key enablers are made available especially for vulnerable communities.
