Global Forum against Racism and Discrimination – Panel Discussion 2

The recent upsurge in racial discrimination, especially in the COVID-19 context, requires mobilizing a powerful global effort to step up UNESCO’s actions to tackle the alarming increase in racism and discrimination in all regions of the world. As a response, UNESCO organized a Global Forum against Racism and Discrimination on 22 March 2021 in the context of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The Panel Discussion 2 entitled “How to deconstruct racism to construct an anti-racist culture: examining new forms of racism” aimed to unpack the various dimensions of racism in contemporary societies that juxtapose with other social constructs resulting in different types of discrimination.
