Global Forum against Racism and Discrimination – Panel Discussion 2

The recent upsurge in racial discrimination, especially in the COVID-19 context, requires mobilizing a powerful global effort to step up UNESCO’s actions to tackle the alarming increase in racism and discrimination in all regions of the world. As a response, UNESCO organized a Global Forum against Racism and Discrimination on 22 March 2021 in the context of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The Panel Discussion 2 entitled “How to deconstruct racism to construct an anti-racist culture: examining new forms of racism” aimed to unpack the various dimensions of racism in contemporary societies that juxtapose with other social constructs resulting in different types of discrimination. The Panel Discussion 2 was then followed by an artistic interlude featuring Tania de Montaigne (writer and musician).
