Chrome on the Bayou - Cajun Blues on Chromatic Harmonica

Recently I experienced a life-altering event. I was in a coma for over a week under full life support and came to the edge of the jumping off point a number of times. The upside is that my perspective has changed. It’s hard to describe, but I feel much lighter. I have more empathy, and an increased feeling of gratitude to be alive. There is also a desire to share and express this gratitude. Playing the harmonica has always been a way for me to connect to that deep feeling of joy inside. This video is a like a little wave of that connection, and also a “tip of the hat” to many of the harmonica players that have inspired me. This original tune (Chrome on the Bayou) has a “Cajun Blues” type feel and is performed on chromatic harmonica, with a little bit of wind-synth at the end. Hoping it resonates with you!
