A first video identification guide to southern African baboon spiders

We’re excited to release this video, the first of its kind. It covers all the southern African baboon spider species (you’ll see the caveats in the video), and using data from the Atlas, shows accurate species distribution maps for the first time. This is a preliminary product from the Atlas project, and we are indebted to the active citizen scientist and social media communities for their contributions and support. We will host a live Q&A session as a follow up on Monday 21st Dec at 6pm South African time (GMT 2) where you can ask questions or discuss any of the content, at this link [insert registration link]. We hope you enjoy the video, that it will help everyone learn about the amazing diversity of these spiders, and we look forward to seeing you at the Q&A. 0:00 Intro 9:44 Augacephalus 23:54 Brachionopus 31:12 Ceratogyrus 50:44 Harpactira 1:47:17 Harpactirella 2:05:31 Idiothele 2:11:43 Pterinochilus
