Eluveitie is a folk metal band from Switzerland. Their sound can be described as Celtic Folk Metal with Melodic Death Metal influences. The band was formed in 2002 and the first EP, Ven, came out in 2003. The song lyrics are often based on Helvetius history and literature (such as the Helvetios album lyrics, based on an attempt to read the Gallic vision in Julius Caesar’s De Bello Gallico) and sometimes written in the extinct Gaulish the music Omnos).
