Animate Proteins in Under 10 Minutes with Blender

Important note: For proteins with multiple chains simply repeat the steps for each chain using L in edit mode to select the individual parts. One of the things I get asked quite frequently is how to animate complicated processes like transcription or translation. Those are huge undertakings, but a great place to start is being able to animate proteins quickly. This video shows how to make ribbon diagrams and set them up for animation in under 10 minutes. Everything is done with Avogadro or Blender (ie. for free). In the future I hope to expand this to other models such as ball and stick.
