Water Adagio - Wine Glass Music

The mesmerizing tones are produced by a strange musical instrument called glass harp, also known as musical glasses, angelic organ, seraphim, glass spiel, harpe de verre, and other curious names. The unique sound of this instrument inspired Benjamin Franklin to create the Glass Harmonica, one of his many inventions, included in some works by Mozart, Beethoven, Donizzetti and many others... The Water Adagio is simple a renditition of the very beginning of Bach’s violin concerto n° 2 in E Major - Adagio - 2nd movement. The first phrase of this adagio is very evocative, it was brilliantly used by Pierpaolo Pasolini in his movie “Il vangelo secondo Matteo“ for the scenes in which Jesus Christ performed his miracles.
