Celtic star Georgios Samaras bows out of Parkhead with heart-warming tribute to brave young fan

SAMARAS paraded 11-year-old Jay Beatty, who has Down’s syndrome, around the pitch at Parkhead as Celtic lifted the Scottish Premiership trophy. Jay sported a huge smile as he waved to 60,000 fans, and at one point cheekily rubbed the Greek international’s beard as he was being paraded around the pitch, Samaras, 29, said: “I first met Jay in Ireland. He is a very special little boy, a massive Celtic fan and a huge inspiration. The whole team were very proud to have him with us today.”
