At least one explosion has hit a southern suburb of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, which is a base for the Iranian-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah. Israel’s army said it has carried out a strike, which it said targeted the Hezbollah commander responsible for a deadly attack in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Saturday. Israel blamed Hezbollah for that strike - the group has denied involvement - and an Israeli reaction had been expected following the incident over the weekend.
