KU Quick Tips - Straight Punch Tegumi II

In this KU Quick Tip I share a sequence for training checking and trapping your opponent’s linear strikes in a repetitive, back and forth practice. This video follows on from the Straight Punch Tegumi video, in which 1-2-3 touch checking patterns were introduced. Here we introduce 2 new receptions, and put them all together in a sample sequence for continuous practice with a partner. Straight Punch Tegumi Video: Many similar exercises exist, with different methodologies designed to achieve specific outcomes. This exercise addresses receiving a straight punch as a Habitual Act of Physical Violence (HAPV), but could in reality be used to intercept a shove, grab, or any linear strike.
