6 Mistakes in Awake Adult IO Infusion

This video demonstrates six things that we did wrong the first time we tried intraosseous infusion on a severely dehydrated, critically ill but awake adult. We learned that being comfortable with the use of IO needles in the ACLS or PALS resuscitation setting does not necessarily crossover into the use of intraosseous needles in the awake adult.
