SEP holds online meeting to demand immediate release of Julian Assange

The Socialist Equality Party (SEP) held an online public meeting on Wednesday December 22, 2021, on the fight to free WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. The event was hosted by the Australian section of the International Committee of the Fourth International, but the more than 250 workers and youths who participated did so from 26 different countries. The meeting heard reports from two prominent World Socialist Web Site writers who have covered the persecution of Assange extensively: Thomas Scripps, assistant national secretary of the SEP (UK) and Oscar Grenfell, SEP (Australia) national committee member and national convenor of the International Youth and Students for Social Equality.
