The Mandalorians are back on Mandalore and they found peace. It looks like Bo-Katan is finally ruling her people without needing the darksaber. Moff Gideon is dead, and so are his clones. Din Djarin adopted Grogu, and everything was wrapped very nicely, and it’s almost like this is the end. Doug: So the Mandalorian is over? Well who are we kidding, it’s far from over. Season 4 is definitely happening, and Jon Favreau already confirmed that the scripts are already written. But after this ending, could the show shift its focus to a new Mandalorian? Or is there still more story for space dead and his Jedi son? So what’s next for Din and Grogu? What will happen to the Mandalorians? How will the shadow council and the first order tie into season 4? Will Thrawn appear? And how the Mandalorians could lead to Dave Fillino’s Mandoverse movie? And what is the threat that will unite the heroes of the new republic era heroes, spoiler alert, it might be an enemy far scarier than Thrawn. So let’s answer what’s next for the Manalorians. Alright, first of all, everyone needs to chill with the speculation that Bo-Katan Kryze is replacing Din Djarin. Bo and others will appear in the future, but I believe that the ending of season 3 got Din and Grogu to where the show wanted them to be from the start. Space dad and son going on adventures across the galaxy, saving people in small towns, fighting bad guys. I.e, going back to the Western storytelling of the first two seasons. And that’s what the ending of the season pretty much establishes. Din pretty much goes back to being a bounty hunter. But he isn’t regressing to his old and colder ways. Din will now work as an independent contractor for the new republic. With Carson Teva being the go-between. Din’s bounty will be the Imperial remnants in the outer rim. This puts Din and Grogu on the trajectory of eventually crossing paths with the shadow council. Those are the leaders of the Imperial remnants, so the Dins will take them down one by one. And this means that sooner or later that will lead Din and Grogu to grand admiral Thrawn. He’s behind the shadow council, he will appear in Ahsoka, and he’s also probably the big bad of the Mandoverse. Now I’m gonna explain how Thrawn fits into the Mandalorian’s future later in the video, for now, let’s stay with Din and Grogu. Doug: don’t you mean Din Djarin and Din Grogu? Well yeah, I guess Djarin and Grogu?…. still not sure how the name works. Look, Din and Grogu roll off the tongue much better, so let’s stick to that. After season 2, where Din won the darksaber, many fans assumed that season 3 will explore Din becoming the ruler of Mandalore. But being a ruler, was never who Din was as a character. This isn’t him being John Snow. Din is simply not meant to rule anyone, he’s a gunslinger, a wanderer, a hero, and a protector. Now that he helped unite the Mandalorians, Bo-Katan is their leader. And that’s good. And this frees Din to serve a much more fitting role. A father to Din Grogu and a galactic hero who’s the linchpin between his people and the outer rim and the new republic. And thanks to Din, there can be a strong alliance between the Mandalorians, Nevarro, and Tatooine, since Boba Fett is the Daimyo of Mos Espa. And Din is the connection that brings everyone together. And this alliance will be very important later when a new threat rises in the outer rim. But we will get to that soon. Anyway, this direction for season 4 means that the Mandalorian is basically going to become the Rangers of the New Republic. Doug: wait, Din is a power ranger now? No, the other kind of Ranger. So in case you forgot, after season 2, Lucasfilm was planning to do a show called Rangers of the New Republic. It was supposed to be about Cara Dune joining the new republic’s special forces. But as you know, Cara Dune went on a vacation on Tatooine and she accidentally fell into a Sarlacc pit, and she has never been heard from again.
