High Impact Animators Win 2019 AMI Salon Award of Excellence

​ The Association of Medical Illustrators recognized High Impact’s animation team with the 2019 AMI Salon Award of Excellence for a legal exhibit we created to demonstrate the mechanism of injury a man suffered as he broke his neck diving into unmarked shallow water. The animation outlines the spinal trajectory of the neck as a diver’s head strikes the seafloor. The force between the impact and the body compresses the cervical spine, fracturing three vertebrae and severely damaging the victim’s spinal cord. All other details about this case are confidential. ​The award marks High Impact’s second consecutive year of success at the AMI Awards.
