The members of Death Pill, a Ukrainian punk band that rose to fame in the early 2010s with their explosive songs and provocative lyrics, have announced that they will reunite for a European tour next year, after being separated by the ongoing conflict in their homeland. The band, consisting of singer and guitarist Olena, bassist and vocalist Dima, and drummer Sasha, had to flee their native city of Donetsk in 2014, when it became a battleground between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian forces. They lost contact with each other for several years, as they sought refuge in different countries. “It was a waking nightmare,” Olena said in a video message posted on the band’s official website. “We had to leave everything behind: our families, our friends, our fans, our music.
