Eva Green Wins $1 Million in Court Battle over Sci-Fi Film Fiasco

In a victory for artistic integrity, French actor Eva Green has won $1 million in a legal battle over a sci-fi thriller that she feared would tarnish her reputation. A British court ruled on Friday that Green was entitled to her full fee for the film “A Patriot“, which never got made after she withdrew from the project in 2019. Green, best known for her roles in “Casino Royale“ and “Penny Dreadful“, had signed a contract to star in “A Patriot“ as a border guard in a dystopian future where the world is ruled by a totalitarian regime. She said she was drawn to the script by its environmental message and the character’s complexity. However, she became disillusioned with the production when she learned that it had lost its original director, Helen Hunt, and that the budget had been slashed. She also claimed that the producers had misled her about the quality of the crew and the locations, and that they had failed to secure adequate financing or distri
