Zelensky risks his life to visit Ukrainian heroes in Avdiivka

President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the front-line city of Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine on Tuesday, where he met with Ukrainian troops and commanders. He thanked them for their service and courage in defending the country from Russian aggression. Zelensky arrived at the advanced positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Avdiivka, which is located near the contact line with the Russian-backed separatists. He heard reports from the commander of the Donetsk operational-tactical group on the situation on the battlefield and the readiness of the AFU to repel any enemy attacks. He also handed out awards to soldiers who distinguished themselves in combat and expressed his condolences to the families of those who died in the line of duty. He said that Ukraine would never forget their sacrifice and would continue to fight for its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Zelensky was accompanied by Andriy Yermak, the head of the president’s office, who said that Ukrainian troops were successf
