Teen Takeover: How a night of chaos and violence rocked downtown Chicago

Chicago - A night of mayhem and violence erupted in downtown Chicago on Saturday as hundreds of teenagers swarmed the streets, vandalizing cars, assaulting drivers and disrupting traffic. The chaotic scene was captured on video by witnesses and posted on social media, showing groups of teens jumping on vehicles, breaking windows and attacking people inside. One woman told Fox 32 that her husband was beaten by a mob of teens as he sat in the driver’s seat of their car. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment. The rampage also sparked panic among tourists and residents who were enjoying the warm weather in the city’s popular attractions, such as Millennium Park and the Art Institute. Police officers had to escort some people to safety as gunshots were heard in the area. Police said they arrested 15 people, including six juveniles, mostly for reckless conduct.
