The Strawberry Tree

The arbutus unedo is a popular tree/shrub native to the Mediterranean. It produces sweet, edible berries, however, they’re not related to actual strawberries. The fruit is used in places such as Portugal to make brandy. And one place you can find a strawberry tree? Right here in the Springs Preserve’s Gardens.
