Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK) -- Created in 1996, is Germany’s premier military special operations force, primarily designed to conduct counter-terrorist operations, surveillance and reconnaissance tasks deep behind enemy lines, hostage rescue operations abroad, deep penetration raids and sometimes even peace keeping missions.
