Like Bayonetta 2, points listed in the combo meter reflect the damage dealt divided by 10. This means, if an attack gives you 15 combo points, the true damage value is 150 damage. Please note that Witch Time and the Improvisation bonus will increase the numerical point value by around ~ but not the damage value.

~ Preparation ~
Bayonetta 3 rarely features singular enemy encounters which leads to a lot of time spent isolating enemies for a 15 second combo or so. It is highly recommended to use Yellow and Red Lollipops for temporary invincibility and damage buffs to clear out enemies. In addition, certain Demon Slave moves such as Gomorrah’s Bite are recommended to clear out undesired fodder.
I would also pay attention to checkpoints. If you mess up a combo, let the enemies kill you so that you restart the verse. It’s best to taunt the enemies on higher difficulties in order to restart the verse quicker.
