The Temptations - I’m Gonna Make You Love Me TopPop

Originally released in November 1968 as a collaboration between the top female and male Motown groups: Diana Ross and the Supremes with The Temptations it became the second non-Motown cover hit. The song was previously recorded by Dionne Warwicks sister Dee Dee and by Madeline Bell but both didn’t reach the Top 10 in the charts. The Supremes / The Temptations release reached no. 2 in the American Hot 100. Marvin Gaye’s ’I heard it through the grapevine’ kept them from the number 1 position. ’I’m gonna make you love me’ was written by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff best known for their songs ‘Back stabbers’ from The O’Jays and ’Me and mrs.
