The driver, a convicted felon with a drug-related history, fled at high speed but eventually crashed. After a brief foot chase, the driver was apprehended. A search of the vehicle revealed drug-related items. Based on a witness report, deputies also learned additional drugs were dumped in the area where the driver initially fled which contained roughly 1,000 fentanyl pills.
