Migrant Crisis at US-Mexico Border Intensifies

Biden’s order to pause the construction of Trump’s border wall expires 20th of March amid a reported increase in illegal crossings from Mexico. Despite this, the president is not currently planning to visit the US’ southern border. In February, the US authorities stopped more than 100,000 migrants at the southern border, the highest monthly number since 2019. The Homeland Security Secretary has announced that arrests on the border are nearing a 20-year high.
