Emmylou Harris “Rose of Cimarron“

“Rose of Cimarron,“ written by Poco band member, Rusty Young, and first appearing on their 1976 album of the same name was covered by Emmylou Harris on her Warner Bros album Cimarron released in November 1981. The album which was composed mostly of outtakes from other recording sessions achieved # 6 on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums and #46 on the U.S. Billboard 200 charts and was nominated for a Grammy in 1982 for Best Country Vocal Performance, Female. It was released on CD on Eminent Records in 2000. “Rose of Cimarron“ was included also on Emmylou’s “Western“ themed compilation album Songs of the West released by Warner Bros. in 1994.
