Move your hand around the bell, don’t move the bell around your hand.

I like to think of punching my knuckles under my chin to receive the kettlebell in the pocket made between my upper arm and forearm for the clean.

Start by making this movement fast and aggressive, and eventually the movement will become more fluid and relaxed as you find the best spot to insert your hand around the bell. Same can be said for the kettlebell snatch.
