Ashi Garami Alternatives: Transition to the Kneebar - even if you have confidence in your ashi garami entry, you can quickly find yourself losing heart when a skilled partner breaks through your connection to their legs. How you transition OUT of your ashi will determine your success in the next phase - which is why switching off to the X guard makes the most sense.
