Schubert: String Quartet No. 15 in G Major, D. 887 - Belcea Quartet

This magnificent String Quartet, perhaps even better than the “Death and the Maiden“ Quartet, finishes off Schubert’s fine collection of String Quartets. This quartet is full of a whole array of emotions - all the movements hold the listeners on edge with every modulations being magical. The last movement, in particular is very interesting - it seems to fluctuate between major and minor very often, settling at G major at the final cadence.
