Hans Hartz - Unser Land (1981)

This lost german punk rock gem combines a groovy sound with strong lyrics. I tried to translate it as far as I could. The Song featured a german criminal tv play (“Schwarz-Rot-Gold“, Unser Land 1982), produced by great producer Dieter Wedel. The topic depicts a con scheme on german taxpayers - a smeary “investor“ from switzerland, backed by switzer gov and banks is showing several masonry gestures during the play, this seems to be intended by Wedel to disguise the “elite“ (although apart of masons and conspiracy theorists who learned about it, normal people might not even recognize them...) Trivia: since 2004, the welfare payment in Germany is called Hartz (IV) - but not because of the singer, who died in 2002 - it was a neoliberal manager, Peter Hartz. Text: Unser Land Schlafe, mein Prinzchen, schlaf ein. Träum deine Träume allein. Das Land hat die Augen längst zu. Träume mein Prinzchen auch du. Alptraum. V
