THE FLOOD ARRIVE | Halo: Evolutions - Soma the Painter (narration)

Halo: Evolutions was a short story anthology released in 2009. It was later rereleased as two separate editions which each contained an exclusive story - SOMA THE PAINTER and WAGES OF SIN, both written by Frank O’Connor (uncredited). Soma the Painter was one of the foundational pieces of Forerunner lore. Before this, we only had the Iris ARG, Halo 3’s Terminals, and Origins from Halo: Legends detailing the Forerunner era of the galaxy, but this short story gave us another unique bit of insight into the history and culture of their civilisation. This tells the story of a distant colony of Forerunners, living on the borders of the galaxy, who meet a dire fate when the Flood returns to the galaxy.
