Laarni Mulvey and Chandler Marrs interview fellow OLL lifter Linda Franklin. We talk with Linda about her journey into powerlifting, training, and competing as a Type 1 Diabetic, and what’s next for her. Age is inevitable. Weakness is not. The Old Ladies Lift group is for all the women who have come to strength sports later in life. As older women lifting heavy weights, we are charting unknown territories. Training regimes and research were almost all exclusively developed by young men for young men. There are virtually no programs or research on how older women might need to train differently to achieve maximum lifts. We’re going to build that body of research here together. Whether you do Crossfit, Olympic, or powerlifting or all three, if you are a woman over 40 who trains hard, lifts heavy, and has learned a thing or two along the way, please share your stories, videos, insight, and questions.
