And with FISA back peddling on their promise to keep the rules consistent until 1988, choosing to shutter it after a shockingly deadly 1986 season, the stories of competitions that could have been, continue to fascinate fans. The Metro 6R4 is one such story – a rally car that started too late, and never had time to catch up. But why?
