North-East Asia Just Got MORE Complicated | Prof. Narushige Michishita

Today I’m talking to a former Professor of Mine, Dr. Narushige Michishita, of the Tokyo-based National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies. Professor Michishita is a Vice President of the institute, a board member, and program director. He got his Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins University and is one of Japan’s very internationally-minded security scholars. Dr. Michishita is a realist, keeping a very close eye on military capabilities of different actors and he is also a great North Korea expert, speaking fluently Korean. He has written numerous books and articles on North Korea, hence I asked him to please talk to us about the recent developments here in North East Asia after the President Putin visit to Pyongyang.
