I Bought a Chinese HO Steam Locomotive - QJ 2-10-2 Unboxing

After reading up on the history of RJ Corman, I’ve been interested in getting a Chinese QJ class 2-10-2 steam locomotive. The QJ was one of the last steam locomotives to be developed and production continued into the late 1980s. In 2006 RJ Corman purchased QJ No. 7040 and had it rebuild before shipping it to the United States. The locomotive was remodelled to give it a more “American“ look. This included removing the deflectors and adding red skirts along the boiler. The HO scale model I ordered seems to ironically be made in Germany by a company called “K-First“. There isn’t anything online about it however the product seems to be of good quality.
