Ep. 93 MAKING A VELVET QUEEN SUNFLOWER and Progress on the Big Sunflowers Mosaic. In Episode 93 from my mosaic studio, I pick up on the second big yellow sunflower on my 30“x30“ GoBoard substrate. To see how I prep the substrate and begin the mosaic: Then I work on the center of the Velvet Queen Sunflower (accidentally labeled incorrectly in the video as Royal Velvet Sunflower) mosaic using cut-out ring of Go-Board and crumpled up aluminum foil to build up the center. Using black Apoxie Sculpt, I add the sun cabochon from Hobby Lobby and multi-colored beads in the center, pulling the string once they are embedded in the adhesive and making a bead mess! Next, I add Apoxie Sculpt and black glass pebbles to the outer ring. And finally, I add a layer of Apoxie Sculpt to the raised portion and push in yellow quartered glass rods.
