Mixed reef species guide - lessons learned from trial and error

One of the most challenging topics in the mixed reef space is species selection as we always manage to strike a balance between biodiversity and compatibility. Today I’ll show you my 70-gallon mixed reef tank, where most inhabitants have been living and thriving together in what I perceive to be relative harmony in the past 12 months. I’ll be introducing corals, anemones, fish, crustaceans, tubeworms, bivalves and echinoderms, followed by a section dedicated to algae and clean-up crew.
