6 Strangest Hearts In The Animal Kingdom

Hope you had a great Valentines Day. Us single folks were living it up getting sloppy drunk and crying away our problems. Ignoring the cold capitalistic overtones of the holiday, let’s take a look at the biggest symbol of the day – the heart. This is obviously not a real heart for a real hear is a slimy gooey angry red mess of tubes, muscles, and filaments. When it comes to real world hearts, one size does NOT fit all. At rest the human heart beats between 60 and 80 times a minute. It’s a reasonable number, not too fast and not too slow. Hibernating groundhogs are the true beasts, who can shut down their heart rate to only 5 beats a minute. On the other extreme of the spectrum lies the hummingbird, with a heartbeat of 1260 beats per minute when doin all the snazzy aerobatics. Hearts also differ in size – ours is just 0.6 pounds or 0.3 kilograms. The giraffe, nowhere near the largest animal, has an absolutely mahusive heart at a chunky 25 pounds 11 kilograms. The leopard-print beast from antediluvian times needs a clunky heart like this to pump massive quantities of blood up the neck and into the head. These are just some spit facts, but let’s delve a little deeper. Let’s take a look at six of the strangest hearts in the animal kingdom. __________________________________________________________________ ✅ PATREON ✅ ✅ STICKERS & SHIRTS ✅ ✅Facebook: ✅Twitter: ✅Instagram: @edgeonthetrail __________________________________________________________________ If I’ve used something on my video that you don’t want me to use, PLEASE EMAIL ME first before flagging a video, I’m very reasonable and will take the video down to replace whatever image or video belongs to you.
